- Receiving information from and reporting back to dispatch
- Preparing paperwork
- Meeting customers
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems
- Explaining what you have found to customers
- Making recommendations and providing pricing
- Removing and replacing motors, capacitors, contactors, control boards, evaporator coils, condesner coils, accumulators, gas valves, burner assemblies, liquid line dryers, and performing preventive maintenance.

- Reclaiming refrigerant
- Disconnecting electrical and control wiring
- Disconnecting gas and/or refrigeration lines and ductwork
- Removing the old equipment
- Building new ductwork
- Installing new equipment
- Rewiring high voltage and control voltage
- Reconnecting gas lines
- Brazing in new refrigeration lines
- Proper system evacuation
- System start-up and check
- Return to the shop and off load equipment
