If you’re looking for a new HVAC technician, you certainly will want a high level of competency, skill, and experience. But what about charact404er, honesty, and moral courage? In this day and age, it is hard to find a skilled technician with work ethic, loyalty and integrity – they’re already working for someone else.

If you look in your own backyard and take on a “grow your own” approach to building your team of HVAC techs, you might be surprised at what you find.

I am sure many of you have (or have had) an enthusiastic young HVAC helper that you hired on a year or two ago and promised to train to be an HVAC tech. You know – he is young, married, and a baby on the way. He is always ready for work, willing to do anything, and eager to learn.

Unfortunately, time passes quickly and the tempo of the busy season gets in the way of ever taking the time to train your star helper.

If you are not careful, after a few years, he will become discouraged and begin looking for another company that he feels will take the time to train him. In the meantime you have “technician wanted” ads on Craigslist and Indeed, and can’t find one.

You can “grow your own” technician with our online course. I provide the structured course, teaching, and testing. You help by verifying the skills with our HVAC Skills Assesment. Best of all your (our) student can continue to work while training!
